Ordained Bishop of Ourense
on 22 February 1997

Appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Oviedo
on 7 January 2002.

Appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Valencia
on 8 January 2009.

Took up the Archdiocese
on 18 April 2009.
